Who are Beaten Bass? Beaten Bass IS a Swedish dance producer. He’s also been behind these two Bea Trice tracks that we’ve featured previously.
And who is Katy Thorn? A singer from Devon in the UK, with no less than TWO albums already under her belt – ‘The Red Hand’ and ‘Girl Friday’.
What’s ‘Rainbow’ all about then? It’s a gorgeous mid-tempo electropop track with a seductive verse, a hugely melodic chorus, and the all-important instrumental post-chorus. It begs repeated listens. ‘Tis a bit of a stunner, this one.
Written by? Magnus Hyden and Katy Thorn. Produced by – of course – Beaten Bass.

Bea Trice: ‘Get Up Again’

Today saw the release of the debut single and its video, from a new Swedish popstrel. It’s 18 year old Bea Trice, and ‘Get Up Again’.
It starts off quite good, so that’s nice. But then it transforms into something quite bloody great, which is even nicer. That bridge. And that chorus! And that post-chorus!!! There’s a massive emphasis on the melody. And that’s layered over an ear catching electro production that’s a pleasing shade of dark under the brightness of the tune. A trademark of the region it comes from as we all know by now, but it’s always a joy to hear it being done so well by someone who is brand new on the scene.
‘Get Up Again’ is written by Bea herself, along with Magnus Hydén who also produced the song. Both Bea and Magnus are based in Gothenburg.
